The museum in Truro recently had a major facelift

The museum has launched a new Corporate Membership scheme, and welcomed two founding members this month.

With growing visitor numbers and a rich programme of exhibitions, events, and activities, there’s plenty for businesses to get involved with. As Co-Director Jonathan Morton says:

With a major transformation underway, this scheme is an opportunity to be part of something special, as the museum becomes a landmark cultural destination and community asset, enhancing Truro as a place to live, work, and visit.

Corporate Memberships come with a variety of benefits which aim to create positive partnerships, reach new audiences together, and celebrate shared values.

There are three levels of membership; Quartz, Copper and Tin – names inspired by the museum’s mineral and mining collections. Find out more here.

The first to join the scheme are Aspects Holidays and Truro City Football Club.

Established in 1989, Aspects Holidays is a family-owned holiday letting agency in Cornwall which boasts a wide range of hand-selected properties across the county and offers its guests friendly, personal levels of service.

Jenna Ali, Content and Marketing Coordinator at Aspects said:

Supporting local companies, charities and clubs is really important to us, as we believe the local communities are what makes Cornwall so special. We’re proud to be a founding member of this scheme and are looking forward to working with the museum team and enjoying the benefits of the partnership approach.

Truro City Football Club joined as a Corporate Partner after senior business team members and Co-Chairman Eric Perez toured the museum to discuss opportunities to collaborate. The club, which played its first match in 1889, brought the city together in celebration last year when they were crowned National League South Champions for the 2024/2025 season. Claire Black, Commercial Executive, said:

Although some would see a partnership between a museum and a football club as an unusual one, there are lots of parallels and shared values between us. The club and the museum are both proud and historic cultural institutions here in Truro, with the community at the heart of all that we do. We’re excited to explore opportunities to host events at the museum and find ways to celebrate the club’s long history by working with the expert team.

Truro City Football Club has been part of the community since 1889

Philippa Patterson, Partnerships Manager at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery, warmly welcomed the museum’s first corporate members, saying:

Corporate Memberships are an exciting new opportunity to be part of the museum’s journey. As we look to the next phase of transformation, we want to work closely with local businesses and organisations to collectively champion Cornish history, art and culture, and to create a thriving community space where people come to connect.

It’s also important that we hear what businesses need from the museum too – be that bringing visitors to Cornwall year-round, hosting events which create a buzz in Truro, or providing a unique venue for milestone celebrations. If you’d like to find out more please get in touch; we’re always happy to talk about bespoke opportunities too – sponsorship of exhibitions and family activities for example.
